NSW: Boy drowns in backyard pool
Police say a boy drowned in a backyard pool in Sydney's west after becoming entangledin the plastic cover.
The seven-year-old was playing in the backyard of a Tregear home about 5.30pm (AEDT)yesterday when the accident happened.
A police spokesman says officers were called to the Wilkes Crescent house by reportsof a boy being found at the bottom of a small backyard pool.
It's believed the boy drowned in shallow water after becoming entangled in the plasticpool cover.
The spokesman says a report is being prepared for the coroner.
